Hello Richard,

I am enjoying this Blog Hop. Your article was most revealing about the lack of available historical evidence for your time period of interest. While frustrating I’m sure, you are fellow writers of historical are breathing life and LIGHT into the events and characters of this and other periods of darkness. I admire the scholarship you undertake to be historically accurate. So too do I marvel at the creative leaps you must make to fill in those vexing gaps of historicity. Thank you for your efforts and sharing the evidence to date.

Thanks guys. Yes you do sometimes have to speculate a lot to fill the gaps.

Many thanks Petrea

One issue can be finding English translation of some of the old material. You have to dig about a bit. Actually quite a lot is available on line but I do like having a copy on my shelf.
